Abstract

   This paper presents a study concerning the security of wireless networks in Romania in the context of the recently discovered vulnerability of Wi-Fi Protected Setup. A large number of wireless networks was scanned giving a good estimate at national level. The presence of the Wi-Fi Protected Setup feature is analyzed for the networks in urban and rural environment and the applicability of the solutions for the PIN acknowledgement messages problem.
